Final walkthrough and closing day

Walk through the home a day or so before closing, then sign the papers, pay your cash to close and get the keys.

Why it matters

The walkthrough confirms the home is in the condition you agreed and that agreed repairs were done.

What to do

  1. Check that agreed repairs are done and that appliances included in the sale are there and working.
  2. Run taps, flush toilets, test heating and cooling and look for new damage.
  3. Bring a government photo ID to closing.
  4. Read before you sign; ask questions.
  5. Get copies of everything and keep them safe.
